Ca'n Verdura
Raul Perez
This is a kitchen sink blend of Mencía, Domingo Pérez (Trousseau), Garnacha Tintorera (Alicante Bouschet), Mouratón, Caiño and Brancellao from a few different sites within the Chantada and Ribeira do Miño zones of the Ribeira Sacra appellation. It was fermented with whole clusters in foudre and aged in a combination of foudre and 500L used barrels.
The 2022 Castro Candaz from Chantada is Mencía-based with other reds, planted on slate and granite. Expressive aromas of pomegranate and cherry carry a slight herbal note. This is juicy and compact, with soft, grippy tannins and a straightforward, savory finish.
This Mencía-based red blend opens with aromas of red fruits and tobacco that lead to a palate full of blackberry, violet, pomegranate, raspberry, and spices.
Roasted white meats, earthy mushroom dishes, and fatty fish due to its vibrant acidity and mineral profile
